How I became a photographer
Born 1970 in Moonee Ponds and grew up in Tullamarine. I can remember as a kid always playing around with cameras then a trip to the USA in 1992 the bug really did bite. It was when arriving back home and had the film developed, knowing I took some great photos but was not to be once they were printed. I needed to learn how to bring what I saw through the viewfinder to what ends up in print so the journey into photography began. Now husband and father living in Craigieburn, love doing images of the local area then sharing both on my site and on our community page for all to enjoy. Enjoy camping with the family, finding the hidden spots just to escape the daily grind and discover more of this awesome country.
After 3 ½ years of study graduating in 1996 from the International College of Professional Photography and Cinematography with Advanced Certificate of Applied Professional Photography and Certificate of Professional Photography Business Studies. This was pre-digital.
After graduating circumstances averted me from being able continue with photography so went on to other things in life. Photography remained a love and over the next few years was more a hobby until 2013 when the opportunity to build my photography service became practical.
The last several years has been building up gear and fine tuning the skills as a portrait photographer. I bring to the table a passion for my art which shows in results, also as a parent the importance of a lasting image of our children for a lifetime as they grow up so very fast.
Why consider me to be your photographer?
Photography is an art form using light to create a memorable image. Anyone can take a photo but not everyone understands how to work with light to create an image that stands out and has that extra punch. I have knowledge and practical experience of reading and using light, proper composition skills, posing techniques and the ability to understand what is important to the you my client. These plus other skills combined helps create images that will make you smile. As a trained photographer I envisage the final image through my viewfinder on the camera not attempt to create the image using photographic software due to poor skills and knowledge.
The not so serious photos.
